Report has that the Hurricanes have delt Milan Hejduk to NYI for Brad Isbister. The report also states that Isbister's stay in Carolina only lasted 17 seconds because he was delt along with Bret Hedican to Detroit for Marian Hossa and Jiri Slegr.

There is news that Carolina has delt Oleg Saprykin and Rene Corbet to Columbus for Tyler Wright and Jody Shelley.

Since the arrival of GM Kev, Carolina has undergone a huge makeover. The first move that GM Kev took was getting rid of long time Hurricane, Rod Brind'Amour. Involved with the deal was injured captain Ron Francis, David Tanabe and mucker Jesse Boulerice. They were sent to San Jose in exchange for Owen Nolan, Patrick Marleau, Brad Stuart and Jonathan Cheechoo. The next move that Carolina made was sending forward Kevyn Adams to Florida for sniper Kristian Huselius. Afterwords, GM Kev picked up a few off waivers which were Alexander Korolyuk, Rene Corbet and hard shooting Michal Sykora and young goaltender Mathieu Garon. On the second day since the hiring of Kev, he pulled some more big deals out of his bag. His first deal of this day saw Aaron Ward and Niclas Wallin send to Nashville for Kimmo Timonen and Karlis Skrastins. His next deal was with Dallas where he sent Owen Nolan, Sami Kapanen and Marek Malik packing to Texas for Mike Modano and Sergei Sampsonov. The final deal of the day was a 3-way blockbuster involving 17 players. The end result saw Carolina sending Sergei Sampsonov, Glen Wesley, Tommy Westlund, Steve Halko, Jeff Daniels, Jeff Neilson and Josef Vasicek to Calgary. Carolina recieved Milan Hejduk, Derek Morris, Dennis Gauthier, Oleg Saprykin, Pavel Datsyuk, Grant Marshall and Sean Pronger from Columbus as part of the 3-way trade.

Rumours have that like Sampsonov, Hejduk will see an early exit from Carolina. Rumours also have Modano, Erik Cole, Alex Korolyuk and Oleg Saprykin are all on the block but only for the right price.
